Special Issue: Innovative Methods and Approaches in Consumer Behaviour Research in the Agri-food Sector
This issue of Economia agro-alimentare / Food Economy features a Special Issue on innovative methods and approaches in consumer behaviour research in the agri-food sector, guest-edited by Alessandra Castellini, Domenico Regazzi, and Roberta Spadoni (UniversitĂ di Bologna), alongside a selection of Regular Articles.
The Special Issue holds particular significance for this journal, as it is dedicated to the memory of Maurizio Canavari, who served as Editor-in-Chief of Economia Agro-Alimentare / Food Economy from 2016 to 2024. His intellectual legacy is honoured through contributions examining how evolving methodological frameworks, spanning willingness-to-pay elicitation, discrete choice experiments, segmentation analysis, and conceptual modelling, advance the understanding of consumer preferences and decision-making in agri-food markets, addressing topics such as natural wine pricing, consumer acceptance of functional food innovations, ecosystem service labelling, agricultural technology perceptions, mountain wine valuation, meat consumption patterns, and algorithmic trust in AI-based recommendations.
Two Regular Articles complement these themes with empirical studies on consumer knowledge of wild edible plants in the Mediterranean context and on the structural determinants of digital agriculture adoption, drawing evidence from Croatia and Armenia, respectively.
