Abstract

The article proposes a theoretical reflection on the existing interconnection – and potentially much more critically intense in the future – between climate change and tourism, referring to the literature produced by scholars of various disciplines, in order to discuss the complexity of the variables involved in the study of this theoretical nexus, and the opportunities and critical issues that emerge. The article is divided into two sections: the first one analyzes the interconnection between climate change and tourism; the second one explores the sector’s climate mitigation and adaptation strategies, highlighting limits and potential successes.
