The paper explores a formative proposal from the University of Padua concerning active guidance in the school-university transition, based on the provisions of the Italian Ministerial Decree 934/2022 (MUR). In particular, an online course has been designed for students in the last three years of secondary school, aiming at fostering transversal skills essential for the post-diploma transition. The 3-hour course can be used asynchronously on the University's Moodle platform, and consists of four main activities covering the following topics: introduction to soft skills, study skills and motivation, social and interpersonal skills; choice guidance. The activities represent a new and innovative proposal, and are carried out through short videos, questionnaires and initial and final reflection activities, both quantitative and qualitative. The first edition took place from April to August 2023, and the second edition 2023/24 is currently underway. The presentation of the proposal, detailed here in its objectives and operational characteristics, can serve as an example of good practices and could increase the scientific debate on the important topic of active guidance in the school-university transition, also serving as a comparison and reflection for other contexts that are facing this significant challenge.
