The observation, mapping and interpretation of production landscapes in relation to trans-scalar dynamics of regional urbanization highlight the growing weight of logistics in a context of transition, if not contraction, of manufacturing activities. In order to contribute to the understanding of local territorial impacts determined by global value chains in Europe – which are the results of multifaceted economic interests, complex governance, and a multiplicity of spatial policies and plans – this article studies the spatial dynamics of logistics in relation to actor coalitions and to spatial policy, planning, and regulations in France and Spain.
