Abstract

The clinical case of our interest is a 33-year-old subject, which we will call M.R., suffering from Steinert’s syndrome, progressive, genetic and multi-systemic disorder that leads to myotonia, weakness and muscular atrophy.
M.R. is a case of particular interest as it also presents a social phobia that leads to a strong isolation, accompanied by a dependence on the Internet and video games, therefore we hypothesize a Hikikomori’s syndrome, leaving open the question on the possible correlation with the Steinert’ Syndrome, being the first, complication of the second.
