Abstract

This research analyses the clinical and economic performance evaluation system of regional oncology networks, focusing on the “Rete Oncologica Campana” case. It examines the fifth evaluation cycle (June 2022-May 2023) of the “ValPeROC” evaluation system which implements a data-driven approach to optimize patient
management and control costs. By observing the Campania case, the research explores to what extent an evaluation
system enhances oncology networks’ efficiency.
The quantitative methodology adopted highlights the system’s utility. Tailored key performance indicators clearly
identify area for improvement and strengths of the network. ValPeROC thus plays a significant role in enhancing the performance of the network.
