Abstract

This paper aims to present a healthcare artificial intelligence adoption model developed by the University Hospital “Paolo Giaccone” of Palermo. The model is intended to go beyond the technological dimension and to be configured as a complex organizational process, grounded in a dedicated governance framework, supported by multidisciplinary competencies, and guided by a long-term strategic vision. The project seeks to integrate Large Language Models into the clinical and administrative processes of a public university hospital to reduce the documentation burden on hospital medical staff and to standardize the information flows accompanying the hospitalization pathway, from patient management to financial reporting to the Regional Healthcare System.
