This article examines how influenza vaccination campaigns serve as catalysts for organizational change within Italian public healthcare organizations, significantly affecting internal organization and relational dynamics.
The analysis draws on three main theoretical frameworks: structural contingency theory, to understand how campaigns stimulate internal reorganization; Kotter’s change management model, to provide a structured approach to transformation; and stakeholder theory, which emphasizes the central role of relationships in the success of the campaigns.
The article aims to explore:
• how the campaigns influence the functioning of healthcare organizations;
• the role of stakeholders in organizational and relational dynamics;
• how the lessons learned through the campaigns can be capitalized on.
