Research on ethical leadership in healthcare, despite the sector’s intrinsic ethical foundation, is still limited. This study aims to examine the adoption of ethical leadership among 48 healthcare professionals in managerial roles within the Italian Health Service. Survey results revealed a favorable inclination toward ethical leadership, yet gender disparities in managerial roles highlighted possible ethical imbalances. This underscores the need to champion gender equality and instill uniform ethical values within healthcare organizations, impacting not only management but also leadership development in the healthcare sector.
