The Alexandria Hospital (AO AL) is the level II hub of the Piedmont-South East Area Hospital Network. Since 2022, the Piedmont Region has identified the Department for Integrated Research and Innovation Activities (DAIRI), set up with the Local Health Authority, as the regional support infrastructure for research and clinical-organizational processes in the Region to achieve the objectives of health research development. In the AO AL, there is a Clinical Risk Unit, which is part of the staff of the Director of Health. The Head of the Unit manages the Hospital Clinical Risk Management Unit, which coordinates the functional activities for implementing the Regional Clinical Risk Management Programme. A particular feature is the emphasis on promoting the out-of-court resolution of disputes arising from adverse events to improve the relationship between citizens and the health system, promoted by the Clinical Risk Manager, who is also in charge of Legal Medicine.
