Lgbtq+ histories, visions, memories. A discussion of three books on Italian contemporary history
Abstract
This article discusses three recent books published in Itlay on Lgbtq+ history, namely Il caso di G. La patologizzazione dell’omosessualità nell’Italia fascista, by Gabriella Romano; Omosessualità e cinema italiano. Dalla caduta del fascismo agli anni di piombo, by Mauro Giori; and L’aurora delle trans cattive. Storie, sguardi e vissuti della mia generazione transgender, by Porpora Marcasciano. In analyzing these books, the author raises a series of historiographical questions, discusses different methodological approaches, and opens up several trajectories for Lgbtq+ Italian historiography, placing these issues in a larger
international debate.
