Thinking together the time we lack. The Editorial Board of Plexus between inquiry, collective elaboration, and renewal. On Issue 17 of Plexus – “Commen-taries on The time of care, the care of time”

Abstract

This article presents and discusses Issue 17 of Plexus, the journal of the Laboratorio di Gruppoanalisi, devoted to commentaries on a qualitative inquiry conducted with young psychotherapists trained at the COIRAG School. By narrating the process of collective elaboration undertaken by the Editorial Board – a months-long endeavour marked by productive disagreements and the challenge of writing with twenty-two hands – the article conveys the experience of a group thinking process that identified three fundamental axes of contemporary professional life: the temporal crisis of clini-cal work, identity fragmentation and the disruption of intergenerational transmission, and the tension between the private dimension and the social horizon of care. The con-tributions of Nadia Fina, who questions the training project of the COIRAG School, and Michele Inguglia, who offers a broad multidisciplinary exploration of the “Time Function” in contemporary life, are also presented. The article proposes a reflection on the role of a journal as a group dispositif and on the responsibility of the group-analytic community in the face of present-day transformations.
