This paper describes an intervention to mitigate work-related stress at a Prevention and Protection Service of a Healthcare Company. The article describes how a group of healthcare workers’ request for help led the authors to develop a focused post-traumatic intervention. The observational group analytic approach and the psychodramatic play contributed to a process of reactivating the group’s and the system’s resources to address the workers’ daily exposure to violence. According to the authors, the third function represented by the observer and the organization of the work across three subgroups of healthcare workers contributed to the development of a mentalizing function within the system. The intervention framework proposed by the authors constitutes a valid tool for supporting groups exposed to high levels of stress in healthcare contexts.
