Migrazioni e disuguaglianze sociali nel mercato del lavoro italiano

Abstract

Questo articolo introduce la special issue di Sociologia del lavoro dedicata a Labour migrations, disuguaglianze e regolazione dalla Grande Recessione alla crisi pandemica. Dopo aver esplicitato il ruolo che l’Italia e gli studiosi italiani hanno avuto negli ultimi decenni nello sviluppo della letteratura sulle labour migrations, gli autori approfondiscono le motivazioni che giustificano una special issue dedicata a questo tema, concentrando l’attenzione sul caso italiano. In particolare, sono tre le ragioni che vengono evidenziate: la crescente disponibilità di banche dati per lo studio delle migrazioni internazionali; la triplice crisi (economica, migratoria e pandemica) che ha investito l’Europa negli ultimi quindici anni; il pieno raggiungimento da parte dell’Italia di una fase matura del fenomeno migratorio. Si tratta di condizioni che offrono l’opportunità di affrontare temi inesplorati e approfondire questioni aperte, con particolare riferimento alla crescente stratificazione etnica della società italiana, da un lato, e al ruolo che le crisi hanno avuto nel modificare gli assetti consolidati, dall’altro.
