Come assicurare una revisione anonima
Per garantire l’integrità della blind peer-review durante il processo di pubblicazione, bisogna impedire che le identità degli autori e dei revisori siano note l’una all’altra. Ciò implica che gli autori e i revisori (che caricano documenti come parte della loro revisione) seguano questi accorgimenti prima di condividere un file:
Gli autori del documento devono cancellare i propri nomi dal testo, dai riferimenti e dalle note a piè di pagina. Inserire “XXXX” al posto del nome dell’autore, del titolo dei testi già pubblicati, ecc.
Prima di caricare un file, autori e revisori devono:
<WINDOWS> aprire la cartella in cui si trova il loro documento, quindi cliccare sul file con il tasto destro del mouse e scegliere Proprietà. Andare alla scheda Dettagli, quindi cliccare in fondo su Rimuovi proprietà e informazioni personali. Cliccare Rimuovi dal file le seguenti proprietà > Seleziona tutto > Ok. Il file è ora pronto per essere condiviso.
<MAC> aprire il file su Word, quindi cliccare in alto sulla voce del menu Word > Preferenze. Scegliere Sicurezza, poi spuntare la voce Rimuovi le informazioni personali dal file al salvataggio. Confermare e salvare il file.
How to ensure all files are anonymized
To ensure the integrity of anonymous peer-review, every effort should be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. This involves the authors and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) checking to see if the following steps have been taken regarding the text and the file properties:
Authors of the paper should delete their names from the text, references and footnotes. Insert "XXXX" in place of the author's name, title of previously published texts, etc.
Before authors and reviewers will upload a file, they should:
<WINDOWS> open the folder in which the file is stored. Then, they can right-click on the file and select Properties. They click on Details, then Remove Properties and Personal Information. They select Remove the following properties from this file > Select all > Ok. Now, the file can be uploaded.
<MAC> open the document with Word, then they click from the top menu bar Word > Preferences. They click on Security and flag the box Remove personal information from this file on save. After that, they have to confirm and save the document. Now, the file can be uploaded.
