Lo statuto ontologico dei corpi fisici nel Timeo di Platone

Abstract

Questo contributo è dedicato al Timeo di Platone, dove viene indagata la genesi e la natura dell’universo fisico. In quest’opera l’universo viene concepito come la copia di un modello. Il saggio si propone di esaminare la possibilità di concepire il mondo fisico come la proiezione spaziale di un archetipo intelligibile. Questa proiezione è resa possibile dall’ipotesi del ricettacolo universale, che rappresenta una sorta di schermo di proiezione tridimensionale: le idee inestese sono proiettate nella chora (spazio), trasformandosi in corpi fisici tridimensionali.
